Adrian Sablan
Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines
Adrian Sablan is Chief of the Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer Division of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). He studied at the University of the Philippines Diliman and finished courses abroad on Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer. He received grants from the Japan Patent Office, from the Korea International Cooperation Agency, and from the Indian Technical Economic Cooperation of the Government of India. Representing IPOPHL, he has worked with international organizations and multilateral bodies i.e., the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of the United Nations, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank on a number of innovation-related projects. He has over 10 years of experience in technology transfer and licensing in the Philippines as lead examiner of high-profile million-dollar technology transfer contracts including franchise agreements involving patents, knowhow, and global brands registered with IPOPHL by foreign multinational corporations.
