While several content management systems (CMS) and audience analytics tools are available for digital signage in the market, they are often sold separately and can be expensive. Therefore, this project aims to design a cost-effective and unified web-based solution for digital signage that combines content management and audience analytics functions, reducing the need for multiple purchases. This can be achieved by utilizing Raspberry Pi technology, known for its cost-effectiveness and versatility in integrations, along with a face recognition camera and machine learning methods. This proof of concept demonstrates the integration of these components to create a dynamic digital signage system. Overall, this project has the potential to offer an affordable solution for companies aiming to efficiently manage and optimize their digital marketing strategies, especially in the Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) Advertising space.

Sentiment analysis has been extensively researched for the purpose of analyzing qualitative data using a computation technique. However, there are only a few research papers that focus on analyzing sentiments in terms of teachers’ evaluation. Analyzing comments on teacher evaluations can lead to understanding more of what faculty development programs can be provided to improve teachers’ academic performance. Thus, this study presents an opinion-mining system utilizing the Bayesian technique of the Naïve Bayes algorithm. The descriptive research method was used in this study, with a questionnaire serving as the instrument for testing the acceptability of the application. One hundred (100) evaluators were surveyed for the teachers’ evaluations. The application performance attributes are defined using the functionality, usability, reliability, performance and security (FURPS) model. The mean formula was used to analyze the data. The usability and security were evaluated as perfectly acceptable, with a weighted mean of 4.64, and 4.56, respectively. Furthermore, the functionality, reliability, and performance were evaluated at acceptable evaluation ratings with a weighted mean of 4.29, 4.02, and 4.11. The overall quality of the system was given an acceptable rating with a weighted mean of 4.32, indicating that the application provided and managed ratings and comments on individual teachers’ performance.

Recent studies have acknowledged social media as a valuable pedagogical tool for connecting the formal and informal learning gap. However, as a new platform, the literature is sparse on the potential of TikTok as a knowledge source. In this study, we explored programming TikTok videos in the #LearnProgramming webpage in terms of content (programming languages and topics) and characteristics (video styles and types). Although TikTok is principally an entertainment destination, our results show that the platform likewise has informative videos. The 349 videos that we examined received a total of 10,046,000 views, 10,523 comments, 932,871 likes, and 35,095 shares, implying extremely high levels of user engagement. Tiktokers showing tips and tricks are the most recurring content type. From a macro perspective, we noticed that TikTokers do not follow the ethos of the platform (e.g., dancing) when producing educational content. This deviation demonstrates the intent of TikTokers to educate than to entertain. Although it is too early to conclude that TikTok can operate as a nanolearning platform, we discovered a substantial amount of content for and engagement from programming learners. Our results lay a potent foundation for devising actionable scholastic implications, policies, and recommendations concerning TikTok consumption. Future works and research prospects were also discussed to propel the social media and nanolearning literature forward.

The project endeavored to design and develop a Web-based Performance Evaluation System with integration of rule-based algorithm that will analyze the performance of each reviewee based on the scores from their examination. The algorithm automatically provides suggested reading materials based on the result of the assessment. With this, the system will help the reviewees assess their own performance. The system was developed using Agile Methodology Model of Software Development. The software produced was tested using Alpha and Beta software tastings. The FURPS model was used to assess the software quality as perceived by the selected group of respondents. The system was found to be functional, meeting the designed functional requirements specifications.

The research aims to develop a teacher's performance evaluation tool using opinion mining with sentiment analysis. The study may help to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the faculty members based on the positive and negative feedback of the students either in English or in Filipino language. The proposed system provides the sentiment score from the qualitative data and numerical response rating from the quantitative data of teachers evaluation. It will also graphically represent the evaluation result including the percentage of positive and negative feedback of the students. Thus, the school administrators and educators will be more aware about the sentiments and concerns of the students.
