Short Biography
Andre Gerald Y. Abendan, an Electronics Engineering student at FEU Alabang, discovered his passion for the field through a high school capstone project. His leadership in STI College Carmona’s SHS Expo earned him the “Youth Leadership Excellence Award†from JCI Philippines. Known as both an academic achiever and inspiring presence, Andre was elected President of the Performing Arts Club, balancing this role with outstanding academic performance. Andre initially dreamed of becoming an airline pilot, viewing Electronics as a strategic path to reach that goal. His commitment grew through the “VitaPET Vending Machine†project, where he led his team in designing a reverse vending machine with Arduino technology to promote sustainability. The machine rewarded users with a candy vitamin for recycling bottles, drawing attention and winning “Best in SHS Expo Output†The project showcased Andre’s dedication to innovation, and environmental change!
