Personal safety is paramount in today's society, where crimes like theft and assault are prevalent. However, many self-defense tools are inaccessible or impractical for everyone. This creates a demand for innovative, user-friendly tools that can provide reliable protection in emergency situations. The Flash'n Alert, a handheld warning device with an integrated alarm system designed to empower individuals to protect themselves effectively. The Flash 'n Alert is a handheld device designed and developed with an activation button as input to the microcontroller that will trigger the four emergency modules - LED for high-intensity flashing of light, speaker for loud alarm, GPS to determine the location of the incident and GSM to send SMS to emergency contacts. This device combines a high-intensity flashing light with a loud alarm, deterring potential attackers and alerting nearby people in emergencies. When activated, the device emits a blinding flash that disorients attackers and provides an opportunity for escape. The accompanying alarm system grabs attention and signals an emergency in progress. Notably, the Flash 'n Alert also notifies emergency contacts, making it invaluable when the user is unable to call for help. With a simple activation button, this device is effortless to use. And with its two rechargeable battery feature, the Flash'n Alert is cost-effective and eco-friendly, ensuring it remains ready for use with its long-lasting battery life.

This paper is introduced as an exploration of how to utilize advanced technology and computing can assist individuals who are mute and/or deaf-mute individuals. It recognizes the rapid progress in technology and computing, which opens up opportunities to address the unique needs of this particular group. The research question addressed in this paper is how we can use accurate time sign language recognition to assist people suffering from mutism and deafness to make the healthcare system more inclusive and accessible to them, especially when taking visual acuity assessments which is normally needed for acquiring eyeglasses. The system comprises a microprocessor unit and a Python-based program that is used to facilitate the visual acuity assessment properly and accurately. The keyfindings of this paper suggest that realtime sign language recognition technology can significantly improve the healthcare experience for individuals who are suffering from mutism and deafness by facilitating communication and reducing barriers to access facilities for eye health care to person with disability like person who are mute and deaf. The study also highlights the need for further research and development so as to improve the accuracy and efficiency of sign language recognition technology for people who are mute and deaf.

Pothole detection is critical in defining optimal road management solutions and maintenance. The researcher used deep learning and yolov3 to create a pothole detection system in this study. A deep learning algorithm called YOLOv3 is used to develop a model that can successfully identify potholes. The detection model had an average precision of 95.43%, and identified potholes had accuracies ranging from 33% to 69%, which is to be anticipated given the numerous various forms and sizes of potholes.

Visual impairment can make pedestrian crossing quite the ordeal as the individuals cannot rely on their other senses to determine when it is safe to cross. Pedestrian lanes are visual indicators and sound is impeded by the noise of vehicles passing by.This paper aims to provide visually impaired individuals with data that is normally not available to them due to their disability. With modern advances in computer vision and small form factor electronics, the researchers were able to create a wearable piece of technology running Object detection and Face recognition technologies on a Raspberry Pi 4.Given the Raspberry Pi 4's capabilities, the researchers were also able to add in extra safety modules such as GPS and Emergency SMS systems in the event that the user is in an accident. Test results show that the device was able to perform its core function within its intended parameters.Though the functions are still limited due to the available technology at the time, there are better components available, especially in an international level, that can greatly improve the final product such as a higher quality camera and a better suited power supply.

VIP-Guide: Development of Pedestrian Crossing Guide for the Visually Impaired people aims to help in the difficulties encountered in walking alone of the visually impaired persons on the streets, in crossing pedestrian lanes and identification of obstacles that might be in front of them. With the system, it will be able to aid them in terms of the different notifications provided by the system. Location from GPS module, Sound and vibration that alerts them whenever there is an obstacle detected. Upon crossing the street, a counter which is synchronized with the system counting on when to cross the street safely was also provided. Visually impaired persons will no longer need a companion whenever they will go outside. The VIP-Guide will be their companion that will surely make them safe even if they are alone and in the outdoors. A cane was also part of the system which will help them on the notification if an obstacle is near. It has a button that would allow the user to press it when an emergency takes place, will send its location through SMS, such feature will then be an aid for them to ask for help. A part of the system allows the user to connect an earphone to be able to hear notifications from the system, such as, 'stop and go', 'do not cross' and a sound of the counter which is synchronized to the system's counter on the traffic light. This feature will surely aid and guide visually impaired persons in their daily activities outside of their homes.
