ERC's Break the Bias Wall
Challenge gender biases! Write, reflect, and reshape stereotypes on the Break the Bias Wall. Your voice matters. #BeyondBoundaries

About this event
Biases and stereotypes continue to hinder gender equality in society. To promote awareness and challenge these misconceptions, the English Resource Center (ERC) presents "Break the Bias Wall"—an interactive activity where students and faculty confront gender biases through words and actions. By encouraging participants to reflect on common stereotypes and commit to breaking them, this initiative aims to foster inclusivity and a culture of empowerment.
- A physical “bias wall†will be set up at the FEU Tech 14th floor where participants can read and reflect on common gender biases.
- Participants will be invited to write down a gender bias or stereotype they have encountered, then symbolically tear it down, cover it with positive affirmations, or rewrite it into an empowering statement.
- The wall will remain on display throughout the week to encourage continuous participation.
- At the end of the week, all notes and responses will be collected and transformed into a permanent display, such as a mural, collage, or digital showcase, to serve as a lasting reminder of the commitment to gender equality.
- Selected responses may also be featured on ERC and iCARE platforms to spread awareness.
