ECESSentials Part 2: Going Beyond theBreadboard and Mastering PCBs
This workshop aims to bridge the gap between prototyping circuits on a breadboard and implementing them on a universal PCB.
About this event
The ECESSentials Part 2: Going Beyond the Breadboard and Mastering PCBs is a dynamic two-hour workshop that bridges the gap between circuit prototyping and practical implementation. Designed for engineering students, this session focuses on hands-on learning to transition electronic designs from breadboards to universal PCBs.
Participants will begin by revisiting breadboarding techniques, emphasizing troubleshooting and testing to ensure circuit functionality. The session then delves into the essentials of universal PCB usage, including layout planning, component placement, and soldering techniques. Through guided demonstrations and interactive activities, students will assemble and test their circuits on universal PCBs, transforming their prototypes into durable, semi-permanent builds.
This workshop prioritizes practical skills, enabling students to master the critical steps of circuit assembly while maintaining safety and reliability. Facilitators will provide real-time support and insights, helping participants refine their designs and solve challenges encountered during the transition process.
By the end of the session, participants will gain confidence in breadboarding, universal PCB assembly, and soldering. They will also develop a deeper understanding of how to document and analyze their work, preparing them for future laboratory tasks, academic projects, and real-world applications in electronics engineering.
