COASTAL CLEAN UP DRIVE IN BASECO, MANILA
Be ready to lead and serve in the spirit of volunteerism!

About this event
Baseco is an urban poor community located in Brgy. 649 Port Area Manila. It is nestled fronting Manila Bay and along the mouth of Pasig river that leads to the bay. The water along this area is brackish or estuarine, a combination of fresh and salt water where mangroves can thrive. Unfortunately, Baseco’s location is also the end point of all Metro Manila wastes thrown into the Pasig river and other river tributaries located in cities within Metro Manila
Actual date of clean-up:
- Introduction of Baseco Community and Courtesy call to Barangay Officials
- Orientation on Waste Segregation and Waste Management
- Community Clean-up with community volunteers
- Delivery of waste to Kabalikat BRAVE Material Recovery Facility

- Snack or Lunch (home cooked meals by some Kabalikat mothers trained by UP PGH doctors on
- health and nutrition)
- Loot bags containing Livelihoods from Waste products
- Rice packs to be given to community volunteers who will help in the clean-up
Note: There may be a minimal fee for this activity to be given/donated to the partner NGO. Please coordinate with your NSTP Lecturer for further details.
